Bodegas Tamanca (Carr. Fuencaliente – Calle Las Manchas, San Nicólas) – this restaurant’s exterior stands out, since it looks like (and may very well be) a wine warehouse. It is reputed to be located inside a cave, and for that reason is bigger than it appears to be. Unlike other restaurants on the island (which revels in seafood), this is a carnivore’s paradise – serving roast cuts of beef, pork – including sausages, ribs, etc. For simpler snack-like dishes, there is always Serrano ham and cheeses. Obviously, aside from the meals, there’s a large selection of local and imported wines.
